One of Australia’s largest private employers, Woolworths, will implement a vaccine mandate for staff in an effort to reduce the risk of infection across its large supermarket network.

All the company’s workers in stores, distribution centres and support offices will need to be fully vaccinated by either January 31 or March 31 depending on which state they reside in as part of a policy Woolworths hopes to finalise by the end of November.Chief executive Brad Banducci said the move was intended to strengthen the business’s health and safety settings as states and territories around the country begin to open up and reduce their various COVID-19 restrictions.

“As we enter the next phase of the pandemic and learn to live with COVID-19, we need to strengthen our workplace safety settings and vaccinations are clearly a key part of this.”“After careful review of the best medical advice, we’ve made the decision to require all of our team members in Australia to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.”

The supermarket plans to engage further with its team members on the policy before finalising it next month. This will include working out arrangements for any employees with medical or religious exemptions to getting vaccinated.Around one-third of Woolworths employees are already subject to vaccination mandates through the Victorian and NSW state governments’ rules for various workers. Those staff, along with workers in WA, ACT and the NT will be required to be fully vaccinated by January 31.

COVID jabs to become mandatory for three-quarters of WA workers, Mark McGowan saysMost workers in Western Australia will be subjected to mandatory vaccination, Premier Mark McGowan announces, as the number of people fully vaccinated approaches 60 per cent. Good. Where was this mandatory policy for workers in nursing homes and other vulnerable groups. Where was the bipartisan cooperative effort to vaccinate everyone as vaccines came available? Fascism catches on really quickly.

Mandatory jab for 1 million WA workers evokes both serious concern and broad supportA WA government decision to mandate the COVID-19 vaccination for 75 per cent of the state's workforce draws a mixed response from unions and employers. Unfortunately it seems necessary. I would like to see the same in Queensland. The covid-injections are a crime against humanity, according to scientific evidence: see Drs4CovidEthics DoctorsandScie1 Covid19Critical RWMaloneMD America's Frontline Doctors AAPSonline GVDBossche ChildrensHD etc. It's a tricky argument, unvaccinated by 'choice' believe it's only affecting them, just don't think about the unvaccinated that 'can't' due to medical conditions. It's not black and white when it comes down to the unvaccinated position.
