WA Premier Mark McGowan has announced the lifting of his state's borders to residents from the rest of the nation, instead opting for a new controlled interstate border and set of protocols for travellers deemed 'very low risk' and 'low risk'.

Western Australia Premier Mark McGowan has announced the lifting of his state's borders to residents from the rest of the nation, instead opting for a new controlled interstate border and set of protocols for travellers deemed "very low risk" and "low risk". "The existing hard border exemption system will be removed and replaced with a controlled interstate border regime, established on an updated, nationwide, health-based threshold," Mr McGowan said.

this threshold is currently being achieved in all jurisdictions across the country." From November 14, travellers deemed 'very low-risk" for COVID-19 - from SA, NT, ACT, Tas and Qld - would be permitted to enter WA if they undergo a health screening and temperature test upon arrival. They would also need to be prepared to undergo a COVID-19 test if necessary and fill out a G2G declaration form.

P!ss Off Slynews MurdochRoyalCommission

Haha

Mr Nobody

Well WTF. Didn't want to be seen as the last idiot standing. Well you have that title. Proves no justification for the ludacris border closure.

Thankyou Premier, but i will kindly decline your offer . I will spend my tourist money in my home COUNTRY of NSW for the next few years

Another confusing border, QLD considers Sydney and Vic a risk, SA, TAS, NT ACT and NSW only consider Vic a risk and WA considers NSW and Vic a risk. This is getting beyond a joke! There should be a national approach to this, time for states to give up the control they have failed

'Residents from NSW and Vic - deemed low risk - would be required to comply with the same conditions but would also need to take a mandatory COVID-19 test, self-isolate for 14-days..' The 'open border' states NSW and VIC. You are now holding us all back.

Is McGowan raising his own army. Please fact Check. Stealing WA, is SEDITION.

Don’t these labor Premiers like to hang onto power. They will tell you what you can do. They will tell you when you can do it. You have to be so grateful. No mention of the collateral damage to jobs, businesses, empty apartments - they just don’t care.

Polls must be turning?

WA hard borders is an 'incredibly confusing' and 'arbitrary system': Human Rights Watch | Sky News AustraliaHuman Rights Watch Researcher Sophie McNiell says Western Australia's hard border is 'an arbitrary system' that is 'incredibly confusing'.\n\n'We interviewed 17 people who had their applications to enter WA rejected, many of them numerous times, one woman seven times despite the fact her mother was ill in hospital,' she said.\n\n'Part of the confusion is there are not enough resources going into this - the West Australian police are managing this.\n\n'There's no formal review process if your application is rejected... there desperately needs to be more transparency.'\n\nMs McNiell noted people who apply on grounds of employment are, on the whole, gaining approval more quickly than those applying on compassionate grounds.\n\nShe argued many people became unemployed as a result of the pandemic and if the borders were in place because of a public health emergency, then it shouldn't matter if one was employed or not as to the risk of bringing COVID-19 into the state.\n\n gee, that was strong...what is it with our piss weak human rights people..pathetic Only to people who watch Sky News or read the Murdoch press. Most of us have a pretty good handle on it. It matters to McGowan if you are coming into WA to bring money into the State. If it's on compassionate grounds, he's not interested as there's no money in compassion!
