Sky News contributor Peter Switzer says the majority of economists believe Australia is heading 'in the right direction' with a belief Australia is already out of its short-lived recession.

Sky News contributor Peter Switzer says the majority of economists believe Australia is heading "in the right direction" with a belief Australia is out of a short-lived technical recession.

"I surveyed seven of the most well-known economists in the country to see whether they thought we were out of the recession and that we were starting to grow even stronger through the December quarter," he said. "All of them came out with a 'yes, yes, yes'. "They all think in the September quarter, we grew between one or two per cent, which is quite extraordinary because it means the recession only lasted six months.

Western Australia to relax border restrictions to all states | Sky News AustraliaWestern Australia Premier Mark McGowan has announced the lifting of his state's borders to residents from the rest of the nation, instead opting for a new controlled interstate border and set of protocols for travellers deemed 'very low risk' and 'low risk'.\n\n'The existing hard border exemption system will be removed and replaced with a controlled interstate border regime, established on an updated, nationwide, health-based threshold,' Mr McGowan said.\n\n'The Chief Health Officer has recommended a 14-day rolling average of less than five community cases in each state and territory... this threshold is currently being achieved in all jurisdictions across the country.'\n\nFrom November 14, travellers deemed 'very low-risk' for COVID-19 - from SA, NT, ACT, Tas and Qld - would be permitted to enter WA if they undergo a health screening and temperature test upon arrival.\n\nThey would also need to be prepared to undergo a COVID-19 test if necessary and fill out a G2G declaration form.\n\nResidents from NSW and Vic - deemed low risk - would be required to comply with the same conditions but would also need to take a mandatory COVID-19 test, self-isolate for 14-days and present for a second COVID-19 test on the eleventh day of isolation.\n\n Polls must be turning? Don’t these labor Premiers like to hang onto power. They will tell you what you can do. They will tell you when you can do it. You have to be so grateful. No mention of the collateral damage to jobs, businesses, empty apartments - they just don’t care. Australians have spoken on climate, so there's no excuse to look backwardsThe NSW Energy and Environment Minister calls on Australia's governments to deliver the transition to a low-carbon economy that the vast majority of citizens want, according to new research. Matt_KeanMP This man continues to be a total liability to the so-called LiberalNSW he is dangerous, ill-informed, agenda-driven & a con artist. He should join Greens Matt_KeanMP At last, an environment minister that actually acts like one. Good on you, sir. Matt_KeanMP Also forgotten are the workers in the mines being encouraged to push their unions to support coal and gas because of the danger to their livelihoods. What many of those workers fail to grasp is that they are endangered anyway. Our addiction to the cash from FF blinds us.
