The Labor Party faces at least a three-way leadership contest in the wake of Saturday night's election loss

"I'm certainly considering it. I mean, my determination is to ensure that we're in the best place to win in three years' time, that we continue the discipline and the unity that we've shown in the lastInsiders"I think the investment in health and education, a real plan to tackle climate change, a real plan to lift wages, these are all absolutely critical to our chances of winning next time and making sure that we're explaining those policies is critical too.

Ms Plibersek and Mr Albanese are both from the party's left while Mr Bowen, the party's shadow treasurer, comes from the powerful NSW right faction. All are from Sydney. On Saturday night Mr Albanese said, "I have never put myself before the Labor Party as a whole and as part of that team I accept we must accept collectively, responsibility that the many people who rely on us tonight will be disappointed that the outcome is uncertain. This movement is much bigger than any individual".

Tanya for leader

Tanya is the best person she will not stand for the crap of the Abbot style of government I am waiting for Penny Wong to have a go? That's the BEST LADY FOR THE JOB PENNY does not take any crap from anyone at all FACT

Not Chris Bowen. Remember him sitting there all too smugly saying 'if you don't like our (tax) policies feel free not to vote for us.'

bferry2004 Surely Albocheesy gets the nod. Wong and Plibersink are grumpy like Shorten came across and always attacking someone.

Albo, all the way for me.

Put your hand up Tanya!

ABBOTT'S unemployed and probably seeking employment. 😂😂😂😂

Perhaps they should look elsewhere!!

It was the media that helped the Liberals win, posting their propaganda as if it were fact and accepting political advertising containing blatant lies. Exercise some editorial control and fact checking.

'Happy Ending' Albo will probably get it. Massage parlour owners also vote.

Ffs AusLabourPrty please not another whitefella.

Albo is the only decent poly amongst this lot.

Looks about white

These 4 need to go new blood required

Bring on Penny please

Chris Bowen was good on telly last week.

We don’t want fighting just good sensible government for all

Go for someone young, intelligent, confident and new. All old wood here.

There’s only one choice, if they want the electorate to like the leader. Tanya.

Have a look at that photo? Is there a leader there ? It’s like where’s Wally

Sorry none have impressed. They are all wishy washy leftist brought up through the parliamentary offices or unions in some way. Labor needs a business leadership not more of the same.

Tanya or Chris would be my choices. They seem to be competent and confident. I doubt that I’d like to face either of them in the House.

Unless labour moves away from climate change policies good for 16 sixteen year olds and under. They are only picking the next loser .

I didn’t realise AndrewGaze10 was in the Labor Party.

Not gonna lie. Going to feel some local town pride if Albo becomes the next leader.

My pick is 1 Tanya 2 Anthony 3 Chris. Forget the rest

My family & mates had been ardent Labor supporters till 2019.We are white collar. Bill is anti retirees, anti would be retirees, anti whoever who strives to earn more.We pay lots of GST,Levies,Frge Tx,Stamp D,Inc Tax. Glad to support welfare but we dislike Bill n cocky Chris

Albos got itin the bag

Be smart, AustralianLabor, go with JEChalmers or JasonClareMP. The electorate has moved past Albo et al.

The next leader can only be a female according to Labor's teachings on equality, inclusion, diversity and a fair go for all women. This should put any male out of the race.

Where’s Jim Chalmers in this mix?

Stop fighting find fresh faces that want to make a better Australia we don’t want the same old tactics

If I was to vote labor again, as I just did, I would vote Anthony and Tanya.

When you hear senior Labour party members like Wong & the deputy proudly saying that they were running on 'courageous policies' & a 'bold' new platform - one wonders if they ever had the good sense to watch & learn from 'Yes Minister' & 'Yes PM'? Groupthink has destroyed them.

Keep fighting amongst themselves

Gee I hope it’s Bowen. That’ll assure the LNP aid a further term after this one.

If you want to make me Laugh Vote Tanya. If you want to make me cry. Bowen. If you want my vote next time Vote Albo. If you want me to throw something. at the TV Vote Chalmers. Enjoy the Analysis.

Albo or Tanya, Chris Bowen no, that's it.

Labor never learns! These 3 imbeciles are part of the reason Labor keep losing!!! Bring it on! Itcrnsures anothrr LNP Victory In 3 years time!

So it’s out of those 4 men?

Yea but the factions have to be satisfied so if the chosen leader is from the ‘left’ the deputy leader must be from the ‘right’! and visa-versa.

Prefect example what's wrong with Politics and our Political parties, no governance, no internal review, no understanding what went wrong and undetstanding who is the vest person to take over, just the biggest egos putting their own interests forward as soon as they can! auapol

where's kk

Please not Tony Bourke unless he gets some intense speech pathology sessions.

Thats the biggest motley crew of all time.

All 4 Labor Candidates are scum of the earth.

This will be a marvellous display of unity.

They need to look for a new face, the old guard led them to this disaster. Labor would be foolish to persist with policies, that only get 33% of the vote.

Got to be Tanya Plibersek. Stare down sexist Australia and thrive 👊🏻

They should just disband the party. Nobody wants their union led socialism.

Boy did you get the prediction wrong.. Also Penny wong might want the job.

U need a clean out these people have been part of multiple election losses, move them on

If the new leader continues on the same path as thought Bubble Bill... the moderates retain power indefinitely...

Don’t they have anyone else 🙄

tanya_plibersek you will make an amazing leader of the labor party paving the way for women.

Plibersek would be great but I suspect she would be persecuted for her husband's one off long ago criminal conviction.

Plibersek. Intelligent, measured, trusted and able to stare a bully in the face and smirk.

“Well done Fellas!” Australia still got Heart,Security & Promises! 🙂✋

What’s the fascination with leaders that have a speech impediment Shorten,Albenese and Burke All talk like they’ve got a mouth full of marbles 🥴

Must be hard to choose between these thugs.

Chris Bowen the architect of rejected tax policy should consider a different career

I reckon Kristina should have a go.

Morrison dangles 5pc deposit for first home buyers, before Labor matches policyThe Morrison Government and Labor agree on a plan to lower the deposit threshold for first home buyers to five per cent. Old school political election nonsense and lies this crap is Morrison dangles. 🤣🤣🤣 The LNP campaign has been long on rhetoric, fear, uncertainty and doubt, and pork-barrelling specific electorates, but very short on a policy platform. The fact is, if the LNP was seriously committed to their new policies they'd have introduced them in the past 6 years.

Overpopulation due to immigration that has created a false economy, the real impact of changes to negative gearing, the 40% death tax. The old wars between the Anglos & the Saxons now on foreign sunburnt black Australian soil on the other side of the world begins!
