A Victorian secondary school has been closed for at least 24 hours after a senior student tested positive to COVID-19 - the student was tested after five family members were confirmed to be positive to the virus | AnthColangelo

A Victorian secondary school has been closed for at least 24 hours after a student tested positive to COVID-19.

The teenager was in a VET class on Tuesday with seven students from two other schools, St Albans Secondary College and Taylors Lakes Secondary College. Those students are now isolating at home."[The student] was probably infectious on site at the school only on May 26," said Victoria's Chief Health officer, Professor Brett Sutton.

A teacher from Keilor Downs College tested positive to COVID-19 a week ago, but authorities believe there is no link between the educator and student. There is no evidence of a link between the student and a staff member who had previously tested positive, the spokesman said.

SA health authorities say they weren't told by Victoria of coronavirus case's arrivalSA health authorities say they were not informed by their Victorian counterparts about when a woman who subsequently tested positive for coronavirus would be arriving at Adelaide Airport. Would have thought it would be incumbent on SA Health to know the details before she was able to travel given it was a bloody exemption. Seems if it isn't written in 'Public Service for Dummies', blaming someone else is the only viable option when basic commonsense fails you. You seem to have forgotten to mention in your story that she was given an exemption to travel by the ***SA Premier***. Clearly those giving “ exemptions” don’t have opposing thumbs! The exemptions policy has clearly been fraught with danger for the community as has state to state communication. Just more critical lessons that need to be added to the “ Next Pandemic Guide Book”.
