Shadow Agriculture Minister fitzhunter says Victorian Premier DanielAndrewsMP has demonstrated 'he is willing to be accepting of all investment partnerships' following the state's signing up to the Belt and Road Initiative with China.

Shadow Agriculture Minister Joel Fitzgibbon says Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has demonstrated "he is willing to be accepting of all investment partnerships" following the state's signing up to the Belt and Road Initiative with China. The Victorian government has been criticized for refusing to release federal advice about their economic partnership with China.

Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews defended the deal saying, “it is all about Victorian jobs” and he would continue to work with China to assist the state’s economy. The initiative is designed to link China with Asia, Europe and Africa via a massive infrastructure investment that will see the widespread construction of railways, motorways and ports.

fitzhunter DanielAndrewsMP Yes terrific. Let’s get all the infrastructure we can by having China loan the money so we can have Chinese companies doing the construction using Chinese workforce so we can pay China the money back with interest or hand over ownership so we can rent it.

fitzhunter DanielAndrewsMP No matter what the cost!!! No matter how many lives it destroys!!! Good on shadow emperor Andrews, I’m sure he and his family will be well looked after by his chinese overlords!

Fitzgibbon unapologetic over China comments | Sky News AustraliaShadow Agriculture Minister Joel Fitzgibbon has defended accusing the government of “demonising China” amid calls for him to be sacked from the Labor frontbench. \n\nThe government had called on Anthony Albanese to sack the Labor frontbencher for his critical commentary and accusing Mr Fitzgibbon of undermining Australia’s sovereignty. \n\nBut speaking to Sky News, Mr Fitzgibbon did not shy away from repeating the rhetoric, saying Scott Morrison unnecessarily damaged Australia’s relationship with China by pursuing the COVID-19 inquiry unilaterally. \n\n“It was just unnecessary for our Prime Minister to run out ahead of everyone else and use such intemperate language,” he said. \n\n“If you’re going to have an inquiry anyway, and we were always going to do just that, why use such intemperate language against your largest trading partner?\n\n“You know why he did that … because he was chasing domestic votes.” \n This crisis has really shown us the true colours of many a politician but unfortunately people have short memories reported a few years back, didn't this guy and his father take Chinese sponsored travel to China several times? another Australian politician in too deep. Victoria went 'behind Commonwealth's back' on China | Sky News AustraliaThe Andrews Government’s decision to go “behind the Commonwealth’s back” and sign an infrastructure deal with China will be viewed “dimly” by the public, Liberal backbencher Tim Wilson says. \n\nVictoria has gone it alone on signing up for China’s trillion-dollar Belt and Road infrastructure scheme, a decision which has been panned by the federal Coalition. \n\nPremier Daniel Andrews said the memorandum of understanding, signed in 2018, was about promoting job growth in the state. \n\nBut Liberal MP Tim Wilson told Sky News “if this was about jobs … the deal should have gone through the proper process with the Commonwealth”. \n\n“Well if it was all about jobs then he would have had no problem going through each step with the Commonwealth government,” he said. \n\n“The Commonwealth has responsibility for relationships with other countries and when you come to a state government going behind effectively the Commonwealth’s back to go and do deals with … the Chinese communist party, the public takes a pretty dim view.\n\n'Now they’re trying to say its all about jobs I think is a distraction frankly from the questionable deal that they’ve done behind the Commonwealth’s back.”\n\nImage: Getty SkyNews racism and fake China conspiracies, following rampant Ruperts blue pilled agenda. Any deal that creates jobs and boost fast track development will be viewed brightly by the public. Only politicians who got their seats by selling hatred view those deals dimly. China trade risk a decision for business: PM | Sky News AustraliaPrime Minister Scott Morrison says Australian businesses will need to decide if trade with China is now a riskier proposition as tensions heat up between the two nations. \n\nSpeaking at the National Press Club on Tuesday, Mr Morrison spruiked the benefits of free trade with China, harking back to earlier comments warning against a rise in protectionism amid the coronavirus crisis. \n\nBut on the decision of risk, Mr Morrison said that was a judgement only businesses can make. \n\n'I think that’s a judgement Australian businesses can only make. And, like any business, they have to weigh up the security of the markets in which they sell to. And the risks that are associated with those,' Mr Morrison said. \n\n'And those risks will move, from time to time. They’ll ebb and flow. And we would like to see stable, reliable, dependable markets all the time for our products and services.\n\n'But those are not decisions that governments make for businesses, be they primary producers and exporters or be they resources companies or industries or, indeed, service companies working in the aged care area on training or things like this.\n\n'But businesses have got to weigh up those risks and make those assessments. Austrade can assist with those things on the ground.” ScottMorrisonMP You fight bullies by punching back. If we don’t stop their Bs NOW then we will be bent over for the rest of time. 90% Tariffs on all iron ore and coal. Call their bluff.
