Novak Djokovic’s camp has delivered a scathing reply to the decision to deport the tennis star following a controversial legal battle.

Djokovic was sent packing last Sunday after the Federal Court upheld immigration minister Alex Hawke’s decision to cancel his visa, robbing the Serbian superstar of the chance to claim a record 21st grand slam title at the Australian Open.

“I haven’t communicated with him since he arrived in Belgrade. It is clear that it hit him mentally, it will hurt him for a long time and it will be difficult to get it out of his head.French parliament recently approved a vaccine pass law which would require people to have a vaccination certificate in order to enter places such as restaurants, cafes, cinemas and long-distance trains.

“I do not want to underestimate the whole situation. It is serious in the world. But what is the purpose of discussing it now in January? Is it still about sport?” The nine-time Australian Open champion released a measured statement last weekend in response to the decision to kick him out of Australia.

Don't come back

Double vaccinated to enter Australia, what part of that sentence doesn’t he understand?

Keep going DjokerNole at this rate your 3 year ban from Australia will be upheld and rightly so. I’m not pro-vax or antivax; I believe in everyone’s right to choose but you had COVID19 and went out instead of isolate. You put people at risk. That’s why you were booted. Selfish

It kinda makes sense because all of the anti vaxx protests in Australia happened while Djokovic was NOT in the country. So, Australian government needs to explain what evidence it had for persecuting him using ministerial power. 🦘🔫

Sad & unfortunate

He wasn’t waterboarded. Anyone would think Australia tortured him when there are ppl out here doing far worse and handling it 🌺

Clearly Tennis Australia & Craig Tiley dictates to Dan's govt what is acceptable for vaccination. Victorians have no confidence in TA or govt after the shambles of player vaccination & wasted RAT tests abcnews theage MartinPakulaMP DanielAndrewsMP 7NewsMelbourne 9NewsMelb

“don’t understand … why it’s important for them (France) to announce this now about the tournaments … in May when the world doesn’t even know what will happen to the pandemic in a month” Maybe France are preparing cos Djokovic sued Australia twice & he’s set to go again🤥

Oh the poor rich ball player

You'd expect from a great star or a public hero to help influence people to do the right things for the good of the people in general. This Djokovic guy does exactly the opposite. In my opinion he had the treatment he deserved.

Don't care.
