Officers managed to pull the 30-year-old truck driver from the burning vehicle in Essendon about 12pm today.

The truck had crashed into a bridge on Mt Alexander Road before toppling on its side and catching alight.A 30-year-old man has had a lucky escape after he crashed his truck into a bridge in Essendon, Melbourne. The driver of the neighbouring car, a 56-year-old woman, witnessed the truck crash and was able to get out of her vehicle before it crushed her car.

Four police officers saw the truck driver become trapped and quickly smashed a window in order to pull him to safety from the burning wreckage.A woman managed to escape her car before the truck crushed it.Police will investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
