One of the nation’s biggest banks is tipping Sydney and Melbourne property prices to rise more than 20 per cent by the end of next year while warning first-time buyers are reaching their financial limits.

“The better than expected recovery in the economy and labour market alongside very low interest rates has supported the strong rebound in the property market,” Dr Oster said in the report. Last year, major banks and forecasters wereUnderpinning the dramatic slowdown in price growth now expected in 2022 following the surprise boom during the pandemic is an expectation that buyers, including first-time purchasers, are starting to hit an affordability ceiling.

But NSW and ACT first-home buyers are those most likely to say house prices are impacting their ability to get on the housing ladder.

JennieDuke Stop reporting misleading forecast. What happened in March 2021 can’t be a basis for the rest of the year. Also, this is going to be a huge issue come election. Socially as well as economically.

JennieDuke About time there was a rise. $1.4M median far too cheap. Needs to be over $2M.

JennieDuke The crash in three years will be mayhem. Can't wait.

Sydney and Melbourne lockdown protesters have ‘endangered the lives of others’Being , at least hardly anyone will see or hear it. Sydney family fined for going skiing at Thredbo as police ramp up snow patrolThe lure of the Snowies proved irresistible to the family, who were promptly fined $2,000 and sent back to Blacktown. But they weren't the only ones caught in the state's south on the weekend. There's a litany of breaches in this article. My family are diligently locked down. Only one of us going shopping at a time, carefully masking, sanitising and QR coding, for weeks and weeks (we started the day we heard of the limo driver going to Bondi Junction) but srsly! 🤦‍♀️ They don't get to claim ignorance any more. Throw the f*cking book at them.

COVID19 9News Problem solved Premier of course the advice is flawed and some will die but that didn’t stop Morrison giving it to the vulnerable😎 It is impossible to achieve herd immunity with something that doesn't prevent infection and transmission. What's the push to get AstraZeneca? Is it because that's what was ordered, because the LNP didn't look into it first? now regardless the risk, we are stuck with it? I did read Scott Morrison is involved with a company that has shares in AstraZeneca, now that makes sense!!

ATAGI urges all Sydney adults to strongly consider AstraZeneca in updated adviceAll adults in Greater Sydney should now strongly consider taking ‘any available vaccine’ as soon as possible. I'm 55 had my 1st shot 3 weeks ago. No problems with it. Missus and I had our first AZ shots a while ago and we aren’t dead. After hearing the PM brag about 'constantly appealing' to ATAGI to change their advice, it's no wonder that people are hesitant! If politicians meddle with scientific advice, it completely erodes public trust.
