In her two decades in Victoria's Parliament, Jenny Mikakos has never seen a crisis anywhere near this costly.
"I am flabbergasted that a doctor that has flu-like symptoms has presented to work," she told a press conference in March. She served as a parliamentary secretary under premiers Steve Bracks and John Brumby, in the planning and justice portfolios, before Ted Baillieu's Coalition government was elected in 2010.
Ms Mikakos, who has Greek heritage, also upset some party colleagues the year before, when she stood up in Parliament and criticised Turkey over what is known as the Greek or Pontian genocide.

I don’t think anyone is naive to think that the involvement of security guards and ensuing debacle that led to the 2nd outbreak of the virus was not a whole of cabinet decision. I’d say the premier, together with all his key ministers have to be accountable- no other scapegoats.
