Kathrine Morgan-Wicks, who is Tasmania's state health commander, said in a statement she had tested positive to COVID-19 on Tuesday afternoon.
"I am asymptomatic but undertook a PCR test this morning following a member of my household developing mild symptoms and being confirmed as a positive case," Ms Morgan-Wicks said. "I am currently well and will continue in my role as Secretary and State Health Commander, working in isolation from home."
No exposure concerns have been identified that would require quarantine or testing of any contacts, except for household contacts who are now in quarantine as close contacts, the statement said.
