With nearly 600,000 active COVID-19 cases across Australia, the federal government has again adjusted how people who are forced out of work to isolate can access hardship payments.

As of today, rapid antigen tests can now be used as proof that you've been infected with the virus, and therefore eligible for the Pandemic Leave Disaster Payment.Here's what you need to know about the payment.People who stand to lose work because they're isolating due to being infected or being a close contact are eligible for the payment.

People who have access to seven days of sick leave will not be able to receive the payment, but Services Australia general manager Hank Jongen told ABC Radio in Queensland they "don't expect people to use annual leave or long service leave".

And the people who lose jobs because they were free and didn't want to take the shot?

Problem is health can’t keep up with telling people to isolate so people doing the right thing and isolating sue to been a close contact miss out, why would casuals choose to isolate when they will be ineligible dude to healths inability to keep track of cases
