A man in his 80s has died with COVID-19 in the ACT as the territory records 1,508 new cases of the virus through PCR tests and food supply issues hit Canberra supermarkets.

Quarantine requirements have impacted truck drivers, distribution and shop workers alike, meaning some products are not even making it to the supermarket.

Larger supermarkets in the ACT have put limits on certain goods like minced meat and chicken, to prevent hoarding and panic buying amid these delays. Domenic Costanzo from the Barton Grocer said his chicken supplier in Sydney had been unable to deliver because so many staff were in isolation."They've said we don't have chicken for you, just order what you can and we'll give it to you if we can get it to you.
