A huge spike in renewables has put the electricity grid under critical pressure at a time when mounting weather crises threaten to undermine the resiliency of the energy system | JennieDuke

"Networks must have more visibility of the security of their operations and flexible sources of supply and demand response when it may be quickly needed to maintain both frequency and voltage stability."

Total emissions across the national electricity market, which includes Queensland, NSW, ACT, Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia, had fallen 15 per cent since 2005.There will be a further fall by 2030 under forecasts presented by the council, to 41 per cent below 2005 levels, following the expected closure of older coal and gas plants.

The council expects the Snowy 2.0 project that will complete in the mid-2020s to help reliability in the long-term, as will funds provided by the government to the Clean Energy Finance Corporation.

JennieDuke Wires and poles are subject to failure, loss of power in transmission and rely on an outdate idea of centralised power generation. They work for big business, but not for consumers. We need more localised grids.

JennieDuke So much for “Renewables are the future.” 🙄 When are the climate cult going to admit their religion is idiotic and costs us all dearly? We need to ban it outright.

How electric cars might lower energy costs rather than increase themA new report warns electric vehicles could substantially increase demand for electricity from the grid. They will also... Decrease the cost of driving (over the long term) Reduce Air Pollution and related illnesses Increase fuel security Reduce the trade deficit Provide Grid stability (via V2G technology) Fanciful at best. What's not fanciful is the fact that one car charging station is the equivalent of 100 new homes connected to the grid.
