Sky News host Alan Jones speaks with swimmer Ariarne Titmus, who was the 2019 world champion in the 400m freestyle, about her great win and some of her titanic battles in the pool.

Ms Titmus said the win came for her just over a year ago now, while she should have now just competed at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

The Olympics has been postponed due to the ongoing threat of coronavirus. "I definitely believe that to win at the Olympics, it's going to take a world record," she said. Image: News Corp Australia

My tweets ‘speak for themselves’: Mikakos | Sky News AustraliaVictoria’s Health Minister Jenny Mikakos has refused to comment on her late-night weekend tweets in which she said she was “deeply sorry” if her effort to combat COVID-19 since its arrival in Australia in January was not enough.\n\n“The tweets speak for themselves; I’m not going to be a commentator on myself,” she said at the media conference.\n\n“But what I would say is that, look, I think at this critical juncture where we have got stage four restrictions in Melbourne, stage three restrictions across Victoria, every Victorian making huge sacrifices, I’ve been concerned that the focus hasn’t been, in terms of the public commentary, on the fight against the virus.\n\n“This is a life and death matter, we’re seeing more and more Victorians losing a loved one.”\n\nAt about midnight on Saturday Ms Mikakos started a thread on Twitter. \n\n“I’ve worked every day to keep everyone safe. I have put every ounce of energy I’ve had into that effort. If it wasn’t enough, then I’m deeply sorry,” Ms Mikakos said.\n\n“I’ve always striven to be upfront and measured about the challenges facing us. So it pains me to see the incorrect assumption made that somehow I can single-handedly report on the actions of countless individuals and many agencies involved in our pandemic response.\n\n“Let the independent judge do her job, let the cards fall where they may. I believe there is nothing to fear in seeking the truth. The truth will set you free.”\n\nImage: News Corp Australia JennyMikakos I’m blocked JennyMikakos Tweets are a statement. Fire this guy. JennyMikakos She got an attack of the guilts but commie Dan has told her to shut her guilty mouth as it makes his corrupt government look bad.

The world seems to be moving toward 'another clash of major powers' | Sky News AustraliaSky News contributor Catherine McGregor says Australia is facing its most dangerous era in 75 years as it seems to be moving inexorably towards 'another clash of major powers.”\n\nThe past week has marked some gruesome anniversaries.\n\nOn 4 August 1914 the First World War began with Great Britain's declaration of war on Germany. \n\nOn 6 August 1945 the United States detonated an atomic bomb above Hiroshima. \n\nThe bombing of Nagasaki took place on this day of the same year. \n\nMs McGregor said the Great War was supposed to be the war to end all wars, however recent disruptions to the global order indicate the world is likely heading toward another clash of powers.\n\n“Last week, former prime minister Kevin Rudd - in an article for Foreign Affairs magazine - expressed the fear that we may be perilously close to a 'hot war' between the United States and China,” she said. \n\nMs McGregor said Prime Minister Scott Morrison was less alarmist in his address to the Aspen forum in the US. \n\n“Yet he warned that the rules-based order upon which prosperity and stability in this region depends is fraying at the edges,” she said. \n Far out can’t we have a break from all this depressing shit 😣😣😣 Seeing that the Chinese now have the Darwin Port, they will also have the Melbourne Port, when Dan Andrews sign's up to the Belt&Road with China, that's his game shutting down Victoria now,so he can use China to borrow Billions of dollars, claiming it's to save the state, wake up Sky are so keen on a war.
