Exclusive: The new independent MP for Warringah said the Coalition had earned the right to govern | fergushunter

The new independent MP for Warringah, Zali Steggall, says the Coalition has been given a clear mandate to govern and expressed optimism about a shared "starting point" with Prime Minister Scott Morrison on climate change policy.in the historically blue-ribbon seat in Sydney's north, said on Sunday the Coalition would have at best a slim majority in Parliament and would need to keep crossbench MPs onside.

By late on Sunday, the Coalition had secured 73 seats to Labor's 66 and a crossbench of six. With six seats undecided, it remained unclear whether the Coalition would achieve the 76 seats needed to form government in its own right. "We are talking at the moment about a very close Parliament. If it is a majority, it's not by much. We have seen the kind of instability there has been of recent years so I don't think anyone can ever say it's all fine and I don't have to collaborate with everyone."

fergushunter Joke my son told me the other day, Morrison doesn’t have a man-date because he doesn’t believe in same sex marriage !!

fergushunter Maybe a mandate to form government, but beyond that they have no mandate for anything. They had no policies!

fergushunter Another 5-minute wonder. Will be gone at the next election when she finds she has no power in government. All empty words.

fergushunter Steggle will be a one-hit wonder like drkerrynphelps

fergushunter Seeing as her only 'policy' was to get rid of TonyAbbottMHR , what will zalisteggall do now... oh yeah...nothing. Except sit in Canberra draining the public purse of course.

fergushunter Good luck to the people of Warringah! Zali will hold absolutely zero power in parliament, she won’t be able to get anything major passed for her electorate 😂😂😂

fergushunter How long till she officially joins the Liberal Party?

fergushunter Zali better hope they need her vote in the HoR, If they don't, why would they work with her? They don't want to make her look good - they want their seat back. If she's not req'd she'll collect an MPs salary for 3 years & achieve 2/5 of squat. Then get turfed in 2022.

fergushunter Zali won battle but won't win war. Looks like LNP won't need her vote. So why would they work with her? They don't want to make her look good - they want their seat back. She'll collect an MPs salary for 3 years & achieve 2/5 of squat. Imo Zali won't survive the 2022 election.

fergushunter Policies and costings never presented to the voters. So, no mandate. There will be nothing but schisms and dysfunction for the next three years. Good luck with that.

fergushunter Lol, climate cooperation Hahaha Haha Lol No, won't happen. They'll lie to you to get your support, and the whole time they'll be white anting you in Warringah

fergushunter So much for independence.

fergushunter I’ve been against zalisteggall all campaign now that she’s won, if this article is true and actually honest then there’s no reason to back her. She’s made her climate agenda clear and that’s absolutely fine but to survive Warringah she needs to be economically Liberal

fergushunter 🤮

fergushunter Love you Zali! Do a good job!

fergushunter Climate freaks are more damaging to the environment than cow farts.

fergushunter Who said they didn’t have a right to govern? Is this like the Monkeys Paw where someone has to passs on the seat of Warringah before their brain implodes. And now Zali is It. Auspol

fergushunter The Greens will hold the balance of power in the Senate, they have a mandate to block anything that comes their way. Have fun with your mandate LNP. 🤣🤣🤣

fergushunter Zingers to look forward to by the sounds of it!

fergushunter

fergushunter

fergushunter No shit Sherlock 🕵️‍♀️

fergushunter A liberal by just another name won’t see much difference from tony there

fergushunter I'm sorry, but she's got those crazy Conservative eyes. Those make my flesh crawl

Trolls target pregnant MP on the campaign trailDespite being targeted by a small cohort of offensive online trolls who claim pregnant politicians cannot do a good job, federal MP Amanda Rishworth says the community has been mostly supportive. She's pregnant not ill for goodness sake, I might just point out here Jacinta Adern NZ Prime Minister, pregnant and delivered a daughter as Prime Minister didn't miss a beat with her responsibilities. Trolls pull your heads in! I have enjoyed Amanda Rishworth’s appearances on Q&A, and she seems competent. She already has one child, s she’ll manage, just like other women do. If men are still using the fact that women have babies to try to dissuade them from jobs, then it just shows how pathetic they are.
