Japan lifted a nationwide state of emergency over the coronavirus on Monday, gradually reopening the world's third-largest economy as government officials warned caution was still necessary to prevent another wave.

Citizens largely heeded the orders, however, with most of Tokyo's famously packed streets falling quiet. The number of new infections has fallen from a peak of around 700 per day to just a few dozen nationally. High levels of hygiene and general health, the habit of removing shoes indoors, widespread mask usage, and bowing as a greeting rather than shaking hands or kissing: all have been advanced as possible reasons, but analysts agree there has been no silver bullet.

Medical facilities are also being boosted after horror stories of coronavirus victims being unable to find a suitable hospital bed.

Third wave, Fourth wave, Fifth wave...it's unavoidable unless they do test, find, isolate proactively. Still a lot of people are being rejected to get the test at clinic in Tokyo even they have got the symptoms. No one knows the actual figures unfortunately.

‘Parochialism pushed’ in media on state border bans | Sky News AustraliaSky News host Chris Kenny says many within the media circles are “buying the provincial arguments” and are “backing the border bans” in stark defiance of the national chief medical officer's consistent advice. \n\nMr Kenny said the idea Australian states could “close off their borders to people from other states has astounded me from the start”. \n\nIt comes as mixed messages have been delivered by state premiers, with some pushing for sooner relaxation of social distancing regulations and borders bans, and others seeking their extension. \n\n“It shows how governments can overreach in a crisis, and the media can all too often get caught up in the moment, bordering on complicity,” Mr Kenny said. \n\n'But my prediction is the media will catch on quickly, as public attitudes change, and they'll be crucial in forcing backdowns'. \n\n\n Each state should be a different country Quarantine is when you restrict the movement of sick ppl. Tyranny is when you restrict the movement of healthy ppl. Why are some Australians acting as if they do not understand the difference? We are only one “She’ll be right mate” away from Losing ALL Our Sovereign Rights😡 How often are the media right these days. They have a poor read on people, every election in the last 3 years shows a disconnect. QLDLabor will suffer a heavy defeat, AnnastaciaMP listens to people in her own circle, thats a leaders biggest mistake thinking they know better.

'Careful and cautious': State Library of Victoria won't open on June 1Allowing just 20 people at a time in the Domed Reading Room and having to register online before visiting are among strict rules being considered for when the library does re-open. The lack of journalistic curiosity about vic gov overreach is sad. Businesses forcefully closed, sports arbitrarily banned, schools shut, health is suffering from stress & isolation, jobs gone... Pretty eerie type of room for reading anyway.
