The inner Sydney commuter carpark set up by the NSW state government was not particularly popular this morning. Just five cars sat in Moore Park’s temporary commuter carpark, which has a 980-car capacity, at 9 am this morning | natassiazc rhettwyman

As previously reported, the inner Sydney commuter carpark set up by the NSW state government was not particularly popular this morning.

But most of the cars attempting to enter the car park on Monday morning were locals workers based around Fox Studios, rather than city-bound commuters. They were turned away and told to use other parking facilities in the vicinity. One attendant speculated the low numbers were because not enough people knew about the new parking facility or who was eligible to use it.

Sydney Boys High School students Sean Montalbo and Ozan Akarsu return to school after the coronavirus lockdown. He and classmate Sean Montalbo said their public transport journeys had “way more” than the stipulated numbers of people on-board. The students were not concerned about the risk of coronavirus transmission in returning to school and public transport, and were mostly glad to be back in routine ahead of exams in three weeks’ time.

natassiazc RhettWyman Good to know people still have a lust for life and parking in a field isn’t the real deal.

natassiazc RhettWyman AndrewConstance giving wrong message to sydney_sider . Original govt msg was one minimises chance of coronavirusaus if 'close physical contact same people 15 min.' so why not just swap positions on TrainsInfo BusesInfo ? P/t safer than car travel. abc dailytelegraph

natassiazc RhettWyman It would be full if it was for free!

natassiazc RhettWyman Looks like Moore Park was not required this morning parkingaust

natassiazc RhettWyman Just like with online shopping, once you realised you can work from home, and quite effectively, its not going to be easy to give it up and travel, with million other people, back the the office...

natassiazc RhettWyman That's great news! Sydney siders doing their bit to help....and hopefully those offering paid parking are also making something out of it.

natassiazc RhettWyman It’s a 50 minute walk into the city from there. That might explain the lack of Parker’s.

natassiazc RhettWyman That's great news! Sydney siders doing there bit to help....and hopefully those offering paid parking are also making something out of it.

natassiazc RhettWyman Oh well. Whether it's underused or overflowing you still go a story to fill the gaps between the ads out of it & a tweet to boot. Editor will be proud of ya! Onya smh nswpol auspol

natassiazc RhettWyman That’s because it’s a massive inconvenience to park in Moore Park unless you live in Moore Park. I’ll bet Parramatta Rd was a 20km traffic jam by 7:30am.

natassiazc RhettWyman Where would people parking there be going to work? There are no office blocks within walking distance, unless you count NRL and Rugby HQ which are both shut.

natassiazc RhettWyman Brave Souls...!

natassiazc RhettWyman It was announced but there was no follow up on actual details. Good to know it's now operating.
