Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says latest revelations from the ‘sports rorts’ scandal show “the looseness of the grants program”. Mr Clennell revealed a report was commissioned by then sports minister Bridget McKenzie into the economic and social effects of shooting, at a $160,000 cost to the taxpayer.
Ms McKenzie reportedly signed off on $1 million in grants for shooting clubs before results from the report were released. “I think it’s emblematic, from what I hear, of how Bridget McKenzie operates,” he said. “She hasn’t been pulled up until now, and that I believe will be fatal for her.” Image: News Corp Australia
