A South Yarra home that started life as a dairy for the ritzy suburb is offering buyers a chance to really milk the suburb’s lifestyle

Now a family home with a $2.65m asking price, the old dairy shop at the front of the property has been converted to a large living and dining room.

Its four bedrooms include a main at the front with a fireplace that looks out across a veranda to the quiet street.A kitchen and meals area at the rear comes with a walk-in pantry, but is likely to get an update at the hands of its next owners. Woodards South Yarra director Phillippe Batters said similar homes in the area had been updated by connecting the kitchen to an adjoining bedroom and adding a second story at the rear for a fully-fitted main bedroom.

“And the bathroom is enormous,” Mr Batters said. “It’s got a bath, a shower, toilet, a bidet and you could have dancing lessons in the middle of it.”Outside, the 355sq m property has a garage and a stand-alone laundry with a powder room in the back yard. The home is zoned for South Yarra primary school, is set between Fawkner Park and Chapel St, and has South Yarra train station within a short walk.
