When Shaun Ferguson was browsing the plants at a local nursery last Tuesday afternoon, he never thought it would land him in two weeks quarantine in a medi-hotel.He says there was a lack of communication and clear direction from SA HealthThat night he received the text message that no one wants to receive.
An SA Health employee called him the next day and told him he could isolate at home with his husband and, that if he tested negative, he could be released out of isolation after seven days as he had been fully vaccinated. "I replied to the email asking if someone could call me, as the information was quite conflicting as to what I had been told," he said."They were a bit confused as well but, basically, said I needed to ignore the email that had come through that it was potentially false information," Mr Ferguson said.Mr Ferguson was taken to the Pullman medi-hotel in Hindmarsh Square.
"The lack of communication, the worry and stress of it all to then being almost ripped from your home and put into a hotel without getting too much information about it or time to prepare.""She said, 'I never go anywhere, I'm fully vaccinated … I just decided I'd go there and get this cat brush and now look what happens. I'm in quarantine,'" Mr Ferguson said.
He said he was given a replacement face mask before being instructed to speak to a police officer stationed at the hotel who asked him a few questions and took his driver's licence."Then they basically say the door is to remain shut, unless food is being delivered or they are coming to test you," Mr Ferguson said.
"You do go through mixed emotions … considering you're vaccinated and the situation you're put in at this time of year, it's going to be pretty difficult for a lot of people being pulled away from their families at a time when you should be out celebrating," he said.
Hopefully no one touched a footy.
This is completely stupid and not even remotely commensurate with the risk posed by Omicron.

Instead of nsw and victorians going into iso now we get to instead. I dont understand how it was a shock to steve marshall that its been found in the state. Vaccines dont work well against omicron so expect more cases now and more people stuck at thomas court hotel.
Has there been any further information about the sigma strain of covid that was discovered in Indonesia last week? I am hearing reports that vaccine antibodies not only have no effect but in fact accelerate this strain inside the body, leading to a quick and excruciating death.

Quarantined with a cold. Lol. Despite a 10,000% increase in case numbers in South Africa, hospitalisations and deaths have not increased. Omicron is a non-story. Stop trying to make it one.
