"The quarantine arrangements will be, if you are a close contact and you are vaccinated, from 1 January, you will only need to quarantine for seven days and get a test on day five and when you get that negative test, after day seven you will be able to be released," she said.
"So when you are still in that day 8 to 14 period as a close contact, we don't want you going into hospitals, aged care facilities, correctional facilities, youth detention centres and disability facilities." Changes to quarantine arrangements for those who live in the same household as an individual identified as a close contact will also kick-in on January 1.
