Fears the United Kingdom is looking down the barrel of a second wave of COVID-19 have been sparked by a significant increase in the number of cases.

The government is introducing new restrictions in order to stem the spread of cases, which is doubling every week.

Case counts are meaningless, it is the number of deaths that matter. There is has been a downward trend in deaths overall.
