Author of ‘The Barefoot Investor’ Scott Pape says kids are finishing school and yet “know nothing about money”, despite financial education being something they’ll be tested on “every day of their life”.

“Their parents say that they’re lazy, they have no idea about the real world, they don’t know the cost of anything, and then they graduate and they prove their parents right,” Mr Pape told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.

Discussing a solution to the issue, Mr Pape said financial education and teaching kids the value of hard work and spending wisely are things “they’re going to use every day of their life”. “A pass or a failing grade really colours their entire life,” he said.

Agree, there needs to be something done because a lot of parents can't provide guidance either.

It should be state funded schools responsibility to teach teenagers about money, Simple as that. The benefits to our economy would be felt greatly, shrinking the welfare spending

Barnaby Joyce sworn in as deputy prime minister as Scott Morrison watches via video linkBarnaby Joyce has completed a stunning return as deputy prime minister less than three-and-a-half years after quitting in a cloud of scandal. Telling us exactly how sick and bereft of talent the LNP are. National party replacing somebody competent but boring with somebody incompetent but headline grabbing. All the wrong reasons. Stunning? No one in the country was surprised that the most dysfunctional party in the country would put him back in charge.

'Almost nothing worth doing starts off with support from Labor': Credlin | Sky News AustraliaSky News host Peta Credlin says 'almost nothing worth doing, starts off with support from Labor' after Prime Minister Scott Morrison ruled out lifting the moratorium on nuclear power if it didn't garner bipartisan support.\n\n'There wasn't bipartisan support for stopping the boats – but the Coalition did it., and there wasn't bipartisan support for the Western Sydney airport – but it's now finally happening after 50 years of procrastination,' she said.\n \n'Most things only get bipartisan support after they've been shown to work – what's that adage? Success has many fathers, but failure is an orphan.\n\n'The challenge here for a political leader is to pick the issues you want to fight on and then to time them well. And often, the things that matter most are those you just have to run on with no other support.'\n\nMs Credlin noted a 2019 poll found support for developing a nuclear industry was up 16 per cent - from 2011 - to 51 per cent and opposition was 24 per cent to 34 per cent.\n \n'And why not? There are now small modular nuclear plants about the size of a tennis court. How can they be so dangerous when the medical nuclear reactor in a southern suburb of Sydney has now been operating without a hitch for more than 60 years?' she said. \n\n'Just like we can export coal, but no longer use it, it's always been pretty crazy that we could export uranium but not use it ourselves.\n \n'We have 34 per cent of the world's uranium reserves; are the third biggest exporter in the world and have been for years; indeed our current uranium exports are more than enough to generate more than all the power we currently use.'\n Luckily no sane investor favours nuclear so you can forget this wet dream Why isn't credlin in NSW? LOL. The most incompetent Prime Ministerial COS in decades sez what

There is ‘a lot of money’ to be made in renewables | Sky News AustraliaLiberal Senator Alex Antic says there is “a lot of money” to be made in renewables at the moment.\n\nMr Antic discussed the issue with Sky News host Peta Credlin, who noted there are a lot of people who are “quite literally banking” on a net-zero by 2050 target from the federal government.\n\n“Those windfarms and solar farms, they do not build themselves,” Mr Antic said.\n\n“And they do not build themselves without subsidy sadly as well.”\n What's fuc$d is all people act for and care for is money not living things. Just over a century ago they said planes & cars were just a fad. Fourty years ago it was the computer. Thirty, mobile phones. Renewables are the next tech. It's the horse & carriage idiots that have a problem with it. That's because it's A LOT CHEAPER THAN COAL ? 👇 Therefore it can generate Electricity far cheaper and that means higher profits. In facts Coal is now so expensive nobody would ever build a new coal power station because they would loose money from day 1 to closing.

Polio survivor: 'I know from experience' what happens without vaccination | Sky News AustraliaA Melbourne polio survivor is furious many people are hesitant about having the COVID-19 vaccine after he contracted the disease at just two years old in 1953, three years before the Salk vaccine was made available.\n\nGeoff O’Brien had to wear metal callipers to support his legs and also wore plaster casts at night until he was 12 years old.\n\nMore than 65 years later he is still suffering from post-polio symptoms and says high vaccination rates eradicated the disease.\n\n“People in their 30s, 40s, whatever, just don’t understand what it’s like to go through an epidemic … people were in a panic state in the early ‘50s, keeping children out of school, out of swimming pools,” he told Sky News. \n\n“It’s the same as it is today but as I say if it weren’t for the polio vaccine we’d be in dire straits.” \n Let him be furious. We don't owe him anything. Polio is spread by the fecal-oral route. Wash your hands, no vaccination needed. This 'survivor' also seems to equate vaccines of the past with the anti-covid version, which are entirely different types of vaccines. We're not all that bovine. 'One of these things is not like the other' Piss Off.

ABC's 'Australia Talks' initiative should be called 'Australia Spins': Kenny | Sky News AustraliaSky News host Chris Kenny says the ABC's 'Australia Talks' initiative is not really a report on what Australia thinks – it's more like 'Twitter views' of the world.\n\nThe ABC's Australia Talks initiative 'is a massive joint opinion research project with a polling firm and Melbourne University,' Mr Kenny said.\n\n'One of the biggest problems with this, as I've have highlighted before, is that it is not representative, the sample is large but it is based on people who have been responding to an ABC online initiative.\n\n'The ABC insists their survey does not reflect mainly ABC audience views, even though the respondents are based on those who use the ABC Vote compass survey.\n\n'They cannot pretend, surely, that that those people who fill out the Vote Compass survey make up a random sample of Australians.\n\n'Perhaps instead of calling this Australia Talks it should be called Vote Compass talks, or ABC programmers market researchers and taxpayer-funded activists talk.\n\n'Or simpler, Australia Spins.' You should do one for the bloke that watches Sky to balance things out.... Chris, if you and sky had any integrity you might make a serious attempt to understand what people want rather than belittling an honest attempt by the ABC Is that like the SkyNewsOz view of the world?
