Liberal MP Tim Smith says he believes the Victorian Labor government has an 'ideological aversion' to the use of ADF in state crises.

Liberal MP Tim Smith says he believes the Victorian Labor government has an "ideological aversion" to the use of ADF in state crises. The remarks come following the Victorian government's accepting of ADF personnel to help clean up the wreckage and damage inflicted in the Dandenong ranges by wild storms – "a week" on from the initial offer.

"I think there is an ideological aversion in the Victorian Labor government for deploying the ADF even when offered by the federal government to Victoria," he told Sky "We've seen this quite disastrously throughout the pandemic with the Victorian government being the only state government refusing the use of the Australian defence force to manage hotel quarantine.

You can’t use the Army as a security force in a state or territory ... that’s just the law.

And here I was thinking 'dictators' loved the military.

It would be more accurate to state that Tim Smith has an ideological (and historical) aversion to using his brain! donutdick auspol

I am getting concerned that the Federal Government is flooding the zone with ADF uniforms for photo opportunities, rather than doing vacinations Quaritine

Mr Andrews , Should Be Arrested , At Once and Charged With Crimes Against Australia and Australians.

Lol. So according to Tim they are a Dictatorship with an aversion to using troops... Nice work Tim.

….

I wouldn't trust TimDim to even tie my shoelaces.

Not sure why?

Smiffy and any thinking sort of activity sufjph as ideology don't get along well.

Think our Timmy has an aversion to Victoria and Victorians.

I'm confused, which one is Milhouse meme again? Tim Smith or the Michael O'Brien?

It is a Laboristic thing. Look what Labor and the Unions did to the Military during Vietnam but refusing to load supplies on the waterfront. Labor has always had a poor relationship with Defence.

Tim seems to be one of the dopiest politicians in the country. I suppose someone's got to be it.

but they are quite happy to sign up for Chinese strategic infrastructure projects....🤔

Just like Tim Smith has an ideological aversion to any criticism?!!!!

Strangely, he is unaware that the Victorian Labor government is using the ADF right now. Tim is my local member. He will be lucky to retain his seat next election. The local social network pages show that his childish rants against the govt are working against him.

Andrews government using ‘every trick in the book’ to avoid releasing crucial messages | Sky News AustraliaThe Andrews government is using “every legal trick in the book” to try and avoid releasing secret messages between Daniel Andrews and his chief of staff, according to Victorian Liberal MP David Davis.\n\nOne question left unanswered in the wake of Melbourne’s hotel quarantine debacle - which led to the deaths of over 800 Victorians – is who made the decision to hire private security rather than police or ADF to guard the hotel quarantine program.\n\nThe messages between Premier Daniel Andrews and his chief of staff potentially hold answers, and the Victorian opposition is now pushing to make them public under Freedom of Information laws.\n\nMr Davis said he is unsure exactly what the messages contain, but “they moved between Daniel Andrews and his Chief of Staff Lissie Ratcliff”.\n\n“We know that the texts between Lissie Ratcliff and Daniel Andrews were also provided to the Coate Inquiry, Coate didn’t make them public, and that I think is a mistake,” he told Sky News host Peta Credlin.\n\n“If he (Andrews) has got nothing to hide, he should have nothing to fear in releasing these texts.”\n\nAccording to Mr Davis, the Victorian government is using “every legal trick in the book” to try and block the release of these texts.\n\n“There must be something there, I cannot imagine why you would not want these out publicly,” he said.\n\n“I think Victorians are frankly, entitled to them.”\n Australian democracy desperately needs a effective Federal ICAC and an enforcable Parliamentarian Code of Conduct. Standard line from followers of Daniel Andrews- somehow it’s Morrison’s fault that there’s a corruption investigation against the Vic govt! Maybe they can just say it’s cabinet in confidence - seems to work for the federal government

Federal government will ‘strongly oppose’ UNESCO’s Great Barrier Reef draft decision | Sky News AustraliaThe Morrison government is “deeply committed” to protecting the Great Barrier Reef and will “strongly oppose” the draft recommendation handed down by UNESCO, says Environment Minister Sussan Ley.\n\nThe World Heritage Committee recommendation would see Australia’s Great Barrier Reef downgraded to “in danger” under climate change concerns.\n\nAccording to Ms Ley, “every reef is under pressure from climate change”.\n\n“And no reef is better managed than the Great Barrier Reef,” she said during Question Time on Wednesday.\n\n“So for the UNESCO draft decision to single out Australia is unreasonable, a subversion of process, and we will fight it.”\n No he isn't. If he was he would take the recommendation on board. Trouble is, UNESCO has rated the Smirko government effort as an 'F' for fail. The morrison government is deeply committed to protecting the morrison government simple really

NSW government’s guidelines for air crew transportation to blame for COVID outbreak | Sky News AustraliaA failure by the New South Wales government to implement provisions requiring drivers of air crew to be vaccinated and to wear face masks is to blame for the state’s unfolding coronavirus crisis, says Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell. \n\nA police investigation into the spread of the Delta variant of the virus is underway and health authorities believe the original source, a Bondi limousine driver, may have contracted the virus in the course of transporting international flight crew.\n\nMr Clennell said the public health orders only require limousine drivers to undergo regular testing for COVID-19. \n\n“There appears to have been a major failure here by the NSW Government,” he said.\n\n“My information is the public health orders governing this driver meant that there was no requirement for vaccination of that driver and that there was no requirement for that driver to even wear a mask.\n\n“So we’ve got severe restrictions in Sydney, an inability for people to travel on school holidays, border closures throughout the country because the NSW government, it seems, did not have a public health order in place requiring this driver to wear a mask or be vaccinated. \n\n“Will the driver be fined? I dare say not given those requirements were not even given in the public health order.”\n aclennell Wait! Does getting vaccinated mean you can't catch covid? I just seen Gladys say you can. aclennell Next time the blame will fall on a ferret named Geraldo who sniffed a carry on bag and sneezed on an unsuspecting passer- by..... aclennell So once again the general public pay for the failings of the state and ultimately the government. Jokers.
