J Capital has questioned Lake’s claims to use an innovative direct lithium extraction technology to produce lithium at a commercial scale in the Andes.

Activist short seller J Capital has attacked lithium explorer Lake Resources for paying financial advisory businesses 41.5 million share options to produce favourable research on it at the same time as insiders at Lake sold shares.

The company says its flagship Kachi Project in Argentina’s lithium triangle has a pre-tax net present value of $US1.6 billion and could deliver annual EBITDA of $US260 million from 2024, according to a pre-feasability study disclosed in March 2021.
