NSW Labor leader Chris Minns has revealed his opposition frontbench, elevating five new members to a shadow cabinet in a reshuffle some MPs have described as a genuine attempt to heal the party

Former leader Jodi McKay was offered a frontbench portfolio by Mr Minns, but turned it down. Mr Minns’ recent leadership rival Michael Daley was promoted to shadow attorney-general, while newly-appointed deputy leader Prue Car will hold on to the education portfolio.Louise Kennerley

“I believe this team gives us the best chance of delivering a Labor Government in 2023,” he said of the frontbench. Thirteen of the 27 members are women.James Alcock “Our vision is that public transport be affordable, accessible and reliable, that it remain in public hands and that our trains, buses and ferries be built here in NSW,” Ms Haylen said.“For 10 years, the government has prioritised funnelling people onto expensive polluting toll roads rather than giving working families, particularly in Western Sydney, easy, more affordable public transport options.

Former shadow treasurer Walt Secord, who was among Mr Minns’s closest allies during the latest leadership tussle, will handle multiple portfolios including police and counter-terrorism. He said he hopes to show NSW that Labor had a positive plan to build a stronger post-pandemic economy for working families.Ms Houssos, who will be responsible for better regulation and innovation, said the new frontbench was the best alternative to a “tired, ten-year-old government”.

'It's do as I say not as I do' in Victoria right now: Chris Smith | Sky News AustraliaSky News host Chris Smith says the Victorian government allowing people to go to the bottle shop, visit a brothel, do what they need to do at the newly established drug injecting rooms, but not allow elective surgery - is just 'whacky'.\n\nThe remarks come amid Victoria's Deputy Chief Health Officer Professor Allen Cheng, giving an update on restrictions, said elective surgery was not COVID safe.\n\n'That has got to be the worst attempt at explaining the health advice, we have heard for a year. I don't even think Dr Cheng is convinced elective surgery should be banned at the moment - of course it shouldn't,' Mr Smith said.\n\n'And it gets worse, it's do as I say, not as I do in Victoria. The latest is, that many politicians are ditching wearing their masks, both inside and outside Parliament House - they've been sprung,' Mr Smith said.\n\n'What a fabulous example they're showing.' Normal behaviour for this bunch of nutters! It’s not just whacky It’s cruel and speaks volumes about these people in the Andrews Government They should be hanging their heads in shame with how they have treated Victorians Instead they pat themselves on the back and think they’re great humans News flash you aren’t !! 👎🏻 Due to this so called pandemic we urgently need all statistics about how many people missed on elective surgeries and how many people actually died because of it. I bet politicians and their unelected CMO will never ever published such report.

‘Not a joke’: Joe Biden tells troops their biggest challenge is global warming | Sky News AustraliaSky News host Chris Kenny says next up Joe Biden will “appoint Greta Thunberg” as his national security advisor after the US President told troops their biggest challenge was global warming.\n\nIt comes after President Biden arrived in the UK for the G7 Summit as well as other bilateral meetings.\n\n“While in the UK, Biden, the commander in chief, addressed some US troops, and as you would expect, the commander in chief spoke to them about global security threats, and the main challenge for the soldiers might have been keeping a straight face,” Mr Kenny said.\n\n“China is throwing its weight around, fortifying islands, building up its armed forces, and bullying its neighbours, and Russia has invaded and annexed its neighbours, while Iran is fuelling terrorist uprisings against Israel and destabilising the Middle East.\n\n“And Joe Biden tells his troops their biggest challenge is global warming.\n\n“Next up he’ll appoint Greta Thunberg as his national security advisor.”\n Why not ? Chris Kenny still thinks Trump is a god. Give me Greta any day over Trump. Wouldn’t thought the military’s biggest challenge was keeping America safe. Chris makes up the dumbest content. Prove me wrong.

‘Green warriors’ need to be ‘aware of the realities’ around climate change | Sky News AustraliaSky News host Chris Smith says “green warriors” need to be patient and “aware of the realities” when it comes to climate change as the “pitfalls” of solar energy are discovered.\n\n“I know that per capita, Australia has put more solar panels on residential premises than any other nation on the planet,” he said.\n\n“This week, a global solar risk assessment, published by solar news outlet PVTECH, reported that solar assets are experiencing higher than expected rates of degradation.\n\n“And as to achieving promised outputs, it showed that one in eight solar assets chronically underperform.”\n\nMr Smith also noted that in Australia, it was reported a health check audit of NSW Green Schemes has uncovered several projects which have been red-flagged, facing serious risk of implementation failure.\n\n“It’s all well and good to talk up a green future, but before they start closing all the coal fired power stations and gas projects, the harsh reality needs exposing,” he said.\n\n“And as for being regarded as baseload capable, don’t kid yourself, this morning wind and solar contributed between seven and eight per cent to the national grid.”\n When I believe the most stupid opinion has been heard, Chris Smith bares all and exposes his ignorance once again. More Fake Arguments..... Chris ...Lying by omission are we? That degradation you failed to mention was an increase from ~0.5% to ~1% for domestic and even less for commercial. More misinformation: That under performance had nothing to do with the technology but its location and how it was stored.
