Queensland aged care homes will reopen to visitors after health authorities revealed the state has seen no rise in the level of community transmission of the coronavirus following alleged border breaches.

Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young made the announcement two weeks after two Logan women who acquired the virus in Victoria allegedly lied on their border declaration passes to enter the Sunshine State and were active in the community for eight days.

The state confirmed one new infection on Monday from a returned overseas traveller in hotel quarantine. Ms Young said all aged care facilities, barring one, would be allowed to begin receiving visitors under strict restrictions. The Bolton Clarke aged care facility at Pinjarra Hills will remain closed to visitors for another day and a half after an aged care worker tested positive to the virus.
