Prime Minister Scott Morrison has met with charity officials on Thursday to coordinate bushfire relief efforts as part of the government's recently announced funding package.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has met with charity officials on Thursday to coordinate bushfire relief efforts as part of the government's recently announced funding package. On Wednesday, the federal government announced additional $50 million in relief funds to be distributed by the charity sector. The funding allocation is part of the government's $2 billion bushfire recovery fund.

The funding package includes $40 million for food vouchers to provide basics such as utility bills and petrol whilst $10 million will be allocated for financial counselling. On Thursday evening Mr Morrison tweeted a picture of the round table discussion in Canberra with charity officials.
