The Prime Minister has announced farmers and primary producers affected by bushfires will soon have access to grants of up to $75,000.

The money will come out of the government's $2 billion fire recovery fund. “We have agreed on an important package to support our farmers…we will provide grants up to $75,000 to farmers and primary producers in the affected areas,” Scott Morrison said.

Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell said there are now three inquiries into this year’s bushfire season "with the end result being every jurisdiction just blaming each other”. Mr Clennell said “one of the aims of a national royal commission, from what the prime minister says, is to give him cover and perhaps to blame NSW for the fact that defence when in at the time it did”.

It’ll be interesting to see how many farmers actually get money. I recall the last time grants were offered only a fraction of farmers actually got anything. Many said they didn’t bother applying because the paperwork was horrendous and there were too many hoops to jump through. it is not done in US Greece or Italy Only in this country gov has to fund everything from Centrelink to interest free loans wild life council roads n bridges This important news announcement was cut off by the abc shits so they could play their ridiculous commercial.

PM Morrison has delivered a 'Herculean effort' on bushfire relief and recovery | Sky News AustraliaSky News host Chris Smith says Prime Minister Scott Morrison has “thrown the kitchen sink at relief and recovery,” in the face of the devastating bushfire crisis gripping the nation. \n\nMr Smith said the prime minister has produced a “Herculean effort” to address bushfires in the nation since he returned from a widely criticised family holiday to Hawaii in December.\n\nDespite Mr Morrison facing a “political pile-on”, Mr Smith said climate protesters should be targeting their demands at the United States, China and India, as opposed to Australia.\n\n“According to climate scientists,” Mr Smith said, those are the countries that “can change the rate of warming”. \n\nThe Morrison government is now “acting on, and changing policy to appease the loudest voices, voices who stupidly think that we can change the weather from Australia,” Mr Smith said. \n\nImage: Getty\n ScottMorrisonMP Chris Smith: class act.
