For home invasions the punishment should be as follows. 5 years jail (this will remove the Street creed and have them forgotten) Or paid work on our farms in remote communities for two years. If they don’t comply with that the serve the 5 years in jail.

A friend of my husband and I was nearly killed by a youth repeat offender a few years ago. Dead for 5 mins before Curly was resuscitated. The court system gave the lad an effective slap on the wrist for knocking the guy down and stomping his head on a sidewalk corner.

A disproportionate number of these youth criminals are unsupervised aboriginal and African youths. Not that the media is allowed to distinguish offenders by race. Getting tough is good, but it needs to be backed up with measures to encourage better parenting.
