West Australia’s health minister has declared the start of the state’s omicron wave, with 24 local cases reported on Sunday.

Western Australia’s health minister says 24 new infections confirm that the omicron variant of COVID-19 has taken hold in the community, days after Premier Mark McGowan shut the border indefinitely in an attempt to keep it out.

Professor Esterman said the decision to delay reopening was sensible because the state government first wanted to elevate vaccination rates. Mr Old said the business had spent “hundreds of thousands of dollars” getting prepared, on top of the millions already invested in developing its technology.“The announcement last night [Thursday] is a devastating blow to our business, which provides employment for 45 Western Australians,” Mr Old wrote.

The chamber wants clarity on a new reopening date and assistance for businesses suffering financially from the delay and inevitable spread of COVID-19.

In other word, it's been there all the time, just McGowan lying to everyone about protecting them. Enjoy, WA.

The Health Minister ought to at least give airborne transmission mitigation a red hot go and get the WA community involved before saying it can’t be done. This kind of misguided and defeatist attitude is why the pandemic won’t end until we cooperate and end it as a united front.

Then just open the borders

Shame about the pack of lies about the situation over here though, hey?

Thich Nhat Hanh, who brought mindfulness to the West, approached death in that same spiritThe monk died in the temple in Vietnam where he had been ordained in his youth. His simple yet profound teachings, which combine mindfulness along with social change, will continue to have an impact around the world. 95, he must have been doing something right. When I face the ultimate end, I will bring with me the wisdom… (and I hope, the grace) …this beautiful man taught me. RIPThichNhatHanh

My family will join them if they do. domp simonjohanson Can't blame people for wanting to protect themselves and their families by minimising contact with others when there is a deadly virus in the community.
