WA's Health Minister has admitted the government does not expect to be able to contain a number of Omicron outbreaks across Perth, as the state recorded 24 local cases overnight.
Ms Sanderson used today's case numbers to plead with the public to get tested if they had symptoms, regardless of whether they have been to an exposure site."It's a bit of a wake-up call for the broader community as well that we do have COVID in our community now and we really need to see those testing numbers higher," Ms Sanderson said."The better the testing numbers, the more confidence we have that positive cases are accounted for and they are in quarantine.

Current modelling of WA current outbreak is that it will have 1000 positive cases a day by 5th of February. By % of population this will be the same (within a standard deviation) of Sydney and Melbourne on the 5th. There is no point in not opening up on the 5th.
It's going to rip like crazy, and the terrible WA health system will make this a disaster, clearly a mining surplus is more important than lives!!

This was inevitable under the current management regime. There will be thousands of cases within weeks. We certainly don't need any more to be imported from elsewhere to add fuel though.
