The Australian athletics team have been locked down in the Olympic village. Live blog:

Zac Stubblety-Cook will begin the men's 200m breaststroke from lane four after qualifying fastest for the final, and looks a great chance to bring home another gold for Australia.

The 22-year-old was six tenths of a second faster than Britain's James Wilby, although it's worth noting that current world record holder Anton Chupkov is lurking in lane one, with the seventh-fastest qualifying time. If he were to win he'd be the first Australian man to win the 200m breastroke since Ian O'Brien way back in 1964.

Later on the Aussie women's relay team will be red-hot favourites for the 200m relay and Kyle Chalmers takes centre stage in the men's 100m freestyle. Jack McLoughlin will be in the first event of the day in the final of the men's 800m, but looks an outside chance for a medal with his qualifying time for the final more than five seconds outside the top two of Ukraine's Mykhailo Romanchuk and Germany's Florian Wellbrock, and four seconds slower than American Robert Finke.
