Oil prices jumped by the most in three months as Saudi Arabia lifted prices for shipments to Asia in anticipation of a rebound in Chinese demand.

Oil prices leapt the most since November as traders grew increasingly optimistic about a sharp rebound in Chinese demand.

The producer also raised all prices for European buyers by $US2 a barrel, and most of those for the US by US30¢.The moves signalled that Saudi Aramco is anticipating an imminent boost in demand, particularly from China, as the world’s second-largest economy continues to reopen from three years of strict COVID-19-related lockdowns.

“There’s a positive mood and optimism, which I must always say is cautious optimism,” OPEC’s top official said on Monday at the India Energy Week forum.

Record profits for BP as Russia's war in Ukraine boost oil and gas pricesAs BP announces annnual earnings of $40 billion, there are growing calls for the UK government to boost taxes on companies profiting from the high price of oil and natural gas after Russia's invasion of Ukraine. F**king ridiculous. These profits are obscene and just shows they have marked up prices 'due to the war' even though they didn't need to. Governments really need to step in and sort these companies out. Didnt explain the higher earnings before the Ukrainian war! Yes oil went up coz of the war but oil also went up before the war; after JoeBiden put 40+ regulations on the energy sector. * Utter greed and lack of functional tax systems to blame for record price gouging

Jacinta Nampijinpa Price weighs in on ABC grillingSenator Jacinta Nampijinpa Price has discussed her “interesting” interview with ABC’s Sarah Ferguson where she was repeatedly grilled over her opposition to the Indigenous Voice. The ABCaustralia claiming Australian's are white supremacists on mass, shame ItaButtrose shame. It's a pity that the ABC cannot hold government ministers to this level of account. Yeah, I watched it and it lived up to what I expect from the ABC now a days. The journalists have decided which way they want to influence the public. Their “mightier than thou” attitude and disrespectful treatment of JNampijinpa is why the public have lost respect for the ABC

Jacinta Price’s private member’s bill aims to ‘protect Territorians’CLP Senator Jacinta Price says the purpose of her private member's bill is to “protect Territorians”. “It will reinstate the alcohol restrictions that previously existed throughout remote communities and also the town camps,” she told Sky News commentator Steve Price. “And then it provides those communities who want to have alcohol in their communities to opt out of that but the process around that involves the development of an alcohol management plan.” VoteNo A common sense approach. There are children that rely on their families for food, clothing, housing and health. I am hoping that the money promised by the Federal government can aid better services to enable an escape from some of the issues being raised.
