| Former banker Nicholas Moore has tapped leading business figures for help as he settles into his new gig asMacquarie chief executive Shemara Wikramanayake, Team Global Express CEO Christine Holgate, Monash University vice-chancellor Margaret Gardner, and former ANZ Asia regional boss Vishnu Shahaney agreed to take part in a reference group for Mr Moore as he works with the Department of Foreign Affairs on a blueprint to deepen increased regional engagement.
Mr Moore is expected to visit Singapore and Indonesia later this month to meet key business and government figures. “As part of this, we are creating a reference group of stakeholders to provide a response to the feedback we are receiving.” Prior to chief executive roles at Team Global Express and Australia Post, Ms Holgate led Blackmores for 12 years which has had considerable success exporting to Asia. Ms Holgate was also the inaugural chair of the Australian-ASEAN Council.and also has a campus in Malaysia. Mr Shahaney led ANZ operations across South-East Asia, India and the Middle East until his retirement from the bank last year.
