New South Wales health authorities have confirmed seven new cases of coronavirus, with six linked to the Thai Rock restaurant outbreak, taking the total number of infections in that cluster to 52.

One case remains unidentified as officials race to contact trace.

COVID-19 kills another five, infects 403 in Victoria | Sky News AustraliaVictorian Premier Daniel Andrews has announced five more deaths and another 403 cases of COVID-19 in the state. \n\n“I am very sad to have to report to you that 49 people have now died, that’s five additional fatalities due to this virus since yesterday,” Mr Andrews said. \n\nThe five deaths include three connected to aged care – a woman in her 70s and two men aged in their 80s and 90s – along with a man in his 50s and another in his 70s not linked to aged care. \n\n“We send our best wishes and our support to each of those families, this will be a terribly challenging time for them,” he said. \n\nMr Andrews reminded Victorians there was financial incentive to stay home from work when sick. \n\n“A payment of $300 will be available to anybody who has taken a test and then needs to isolate until they get their test result, [for anyone] in work but does not have sick leave that they can fall back on,” he said. \n\nOf the 403 new cases, 69 are connected to known outbreaks and 334 are still under investigation. \n\nImage: News Corp Australia DanielAndrewsMP How many tested in last 24 hrs? Sydney aged care worker tests positive to COVID-19 | Sky News AustraliaA staff member at a Sydney nursing home has tested positive for COVID-19 after dining at the Thai Rock restaurant in Wetherill Park. \n\nAll Ashfield Baptist Home residents and staff will be tested for the virus today in a bid to prevent an outbreak at the aged care facility. \n\nThe staffer who tested positive to coronavirus dined at the Thai Rock restaurant on July 12 before working three shifts at the aged care facility. \n\nThe Sydney Local Health District said the risk to other staff and residents was considered to be very low as the staff member wore masks, gloves and gowns when working and did not work while symptomatic. \n\nImage: News Corp Australia Yeah blame the restaurant.
