NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has scrapped the $810 million rebuild of Sydney’s Olympic stadium at Homebush as the state deals with the fallout of the coronavirus pandemic.

Instead Premier Berejiklian announced a new $3 billion fund for job-creating projects to produce an extra 20,000 positions. The move would also fire up the economy, with $100 billion now being invested in the state’s infrastructure. “Every spare dollar we have, every dollar we get our hands on will be donated to health and to jobs,” Premier Berejiklian said.
