A high profile Melbourne restaurant owner is taking a “multi-million dollar gamble” as Victoria emerges from its fifth lockdown, says Sky News host Peta Credlin.

“Chris Lucas’ new eatery ‘Society’ is making its mark on a high-end stretch of the CBD and keeping hundreds of hospitality workers employed,” Ms Credlin said.

In an exclusive interview, Founder and CEO of Lucas Group Chris Lucas told Ms Credlin lockdowns “took their toll” but it’s great news his “landmark restaurant” is going to open and “hopefully bring joy” to the dining public of Melbourne.“We’re carrying some scars, we’ve been battered and bruised, the industry is on its knees, the city is on its knees … but we’re resilient, this industry is nothing but resilient,” he told Ms Credlin.

New South Wales records 239 new local coronavirus cases and two deathsNSW has recorded 239 new local cases of coronavirus and two deaths, with Premier Gladys Berejiklian warning things are 'likely to get worse before they get better'. The caseload came from 110,962 tests. Why are international flights still coming into Sydney? If Sydney is an out of control hot-spot, what's the point of flying returning Australians in there to quarantine? Just a recipe for increased spread. No one in or out. Quarantine Sydney. Well the only positive is the huge numbers of people being tested. I wonder if those who protested on the weekend are feeling sorry for themselves today - if they now have COVID and spread it to their loved ones. Likely to get worse for you if you fail to implement the agenda. You will be another mysterious statistic.
