NBN Co has effectively announced a proposed lower wholesale price for the "entry-level" tier, which is the lowest speed on the network, to a suggested retail price of $60 per month. Communications Minister Paul Fletcher said ultimately the intention is to “make the product somewhat more attractive to the retail service providers.
The newly proposed price point has been designed to broadly mimick the cost of the previously used ADSL technology while acting as a way of allowing the estimated 500,000 households in Australia within the NBN footprint, “who at the moment may not see value in the NBN”, join the “more reliable” network. This proposed NBN pricing adjustment will take effect from October.
5G will take on NBN'Co successfully especially with the users only getting satellite, fixed wireless and FTTN which has been confirmed by NBN CEO Bill Morrow that those services will never get speed upgrades because it's too costly.

When we were FORCED to move from ADLS2 to NBN we had the accept a lower speed at a higher cost in Coffs Harbour. An absolute scam. I think people still don’t fully realise you have absolutely no choice once NBN rolls out in your area. It’s a disgrace and a monopoly
