'No plans' for Netflix tax as NBN Co floats new high-speed plan and discounts | jennieduke

Instead, significant discounts to the NBN Co’s plans across the board and several new plan options have been introduced. A new 250Mbps plan has 25Mbps upload at a wholesale price of $68 a month and the 1Gbps plan is priced at $80 a month with 50Mbps upload. A new 1Gbps plan with 20Mbps upload speeds, compared to 40Mbps in existing plans, will be priced at $58 – down 11 per cent.The highest speed plans will be available to customers on pay-TV cable connections known as HFC and fibre to the premises, and those who are upgraded to fibre to the curb and Gfast technologies.

JennieDuke Damn. I was really hoping for a netflix tax :(

JennieDuke You can quote upload and download speeds but they are absolutely. I contribute to a 50 mbps plan and in the 18mths on the plan the best download speed I’ve had is around 38 mbps. I seemingly pay for around 12 mbps that is never delivered. The consumer is always taken for a ride!
