Nationals leader Barnaby Joyce says his partyroom is vexed over the prospect of a net zero emissions target by 2050, but his MPs don’t want to hurt regional communities

Nationals leader Barnaby Joyce has warned winding back the nation’s $50 billion fossil fuel export industry will mean less federal government revenue to support the aged pension and disabled Australians as his colleagues warn they won’t be pushovers on any net-zero emissions pact.

“If people move away from it, then you have to move away from some of the support that comes in the way of pensions or healthcare or NDIS because the money just won’t be there.” “My colleagues will put forward their own views, and at the moment it’s a blank canvas,” Mr Pitt said. Senator Canavan said on Monday: “Trying to get to net zero is like trying to get back to COVID zero. Both are unattainable and it will cost us a bomb if we try.”

Regional communities might be the most affected by the more extremely fire's,drought and floods,Cities communities have donated Millions of the dollars to the region affected,Coalition PM Scott just wasted over 13Millions dollars to spend Billions for war,not for fire combat?

What Joyce & Canavan won't tell their constituents is the days of coal are very, very limited. LNP has no transition plan & will result in job losses. The global market for fossil fuels is changing. Fess up Barnaby!

Please. To be ‘vexed’ requires a level of neural and ethical functioning they don’t have.

Too much corruption to get rid of coal. Watching real journalism like friendlyjordies really shows how corrupt our pollies are, all aided by the media with there silence. Sure, the SMH exposes corrupt pollies all the time, but I suspect they report only 1% of what they know....

It's not regional communities. It is the vested coal mining industries that finance the nats. There are more regional workers harmed by climate change than there are workers in the coal industry but the coal industry commits millions for the sold to the highest bidder nats. Scum.

Was Barnaby_Joyce stinking drunk when he said that?

Barnaby_Joyce

If only he wasn’t as vexed by day drinking and shagging staffers. He might actually do his job for a change.

Barnaby Joyce should keep his mouth shhit and accept science in this matter. Any Nats that dont believe in climate change and what must be done about it should be kicked out.

Barnaby Joyce is not a farmer. He's a politician. Taking donations from fossil fuel companies, and in the palm of Gina and Twiggy. The Nationals are the mining party. Not for farmers. auspol LNPCorruptionParty Election2021 ClimateEmergency nationalparty

So no action then.

'vexed' or 'vexatious'?

The carbon objective is fake so what is the real agenda of the UN?

I suspect farmers are big environmentalists and may not be on board with Barnaby.

🥵Joyce literally admitted to governing for the 17% of farmers and coal workers in his electorate over the weekend (live on Insiders), and not for the remaining 83% whom he ALSO exists to serve. Is it any surprise when THIS abomination is his boss? ScoalMo NetZeroBy2050 auspol

Gina has spoken.
