The heartbroken family of a Sydney nurse who died working at Liverpool Hospital say they still don't know why he never came home.His family claim they were told his death was a 'medical episode' but have since discovered he'd been involved in a confrontation with a mentally ill patient.

Praween Maharaj died on April 17 while on a shift at one of Liverpool hospital's mental health units.Mr Maharaj was involved in a struggle with the man inside the nurses' station and reportedly hit his head as he fell to the ground."Every day I think he is going to open the door. It is very hard…it feels like nobody cares about him," she said.She said the family have many unanswered questions about the 49-year-old experienced mental health nurse educator's death.
