Labor leader Anthony Albanese has demanded more information on the economic implications of the Coalition's income tax plan as pressure mounts on the party to back the cuts.
Mr Albanese maintains that Labor will consider the options based on the facts, consulting internally and externally before considering the second and third stages of the $158 tax cuts for middle and higher income earners. The government is set to make the tax cuts the priority for the first parliamentary sitting week in July, with Finance Minister Mathias Cormann has shutting down the prospect of a deal to win support for the plan.
