Colorado Parks and Wildlife spokesman Jason Clay said the boy was bitten on the head at about 7.30pm on Wednesday in a rural subdivision near the small town of Bailey, southwest of Denver.
The boy was hospitalised with serious injuries and wildlife officials set up traps around the Colorado parklands surrounding the boy's home to try and catch the animal.Last week, a mountain lion attacked a hunter who fought it off with a pocket knife.it to death to escape. Yesterday, wildlife officials confirmed they euthanised two mountain lions, one of which is believed to be the lion that attacked the young boy.
