Prime Minister Scott Morrison will fly to Rome today before making his way to Glasgow for the G20 summit.

The Government maintains Australia will refuse to back a 30 per cent reduction in methane emissions – during the talks next week.

The US and European pledge to cut emissions by the end of the decade is expected to be made binding at the COP26 conference. According to The Australian newspaper, the Government fears the target will negatively impact the agriculture, coal and gas industries. The decision is believed to be part of the agreement made to convince the National Party to sign up to net zero by 2050.Read More

This is how Scott Morrison plans to reach net zero emissions, but not everyone's convincedAfter months of negotiations to secure a final deal ahead of the COP26 summit in Glasgow, the Coalition’s net zero plan has been released for political and scientific scrutiny.
