Jordan Petaia's inclusion in Australia's World Cup quarter-final midfield after 97 minutes of Test rugby is the biggest selection gamble of Michael Cheika's career. | geerob RWC2019

Jordan Petaia's inclusion in Australia's World Cup quarter-final midfield after 97 minutes of Test rugby is the biggest selection gamble of Michael Cheika's career.

"When I talk about attack I’m not just talking about with the ball. I’m talking about who wants to attack more," he said. "We’re almost I suppose dead in that way because the fear inside us is dead. We’re not afraid to go there and get it and that means it’s going to be a great game."Petaia's selection is not out of nowhere.

Captain Owen Farrell will start at No.10, Manu Tuilagi and No.12 and Henry Slade at No.13. That combination helped England beat Ireland and France by a combined points haul of 76 points, drew 38-38 with Scotland and lose to eventual Grand Slam champions Wales 21-13. Tried and tested: Owen Farrell replaces George Ford at No.10 in this weekend's quarter-final against Australia."Australia defend a certain way and we believe those three players can trouble their defence, and defensively we feel like it's a pretty strong 10-12-13 combination," he said.
