Queensland Opposition Leader Deb Frecklington says while “the Palaszczuk government have been sitting on their hands,” the Liberal National Party of Queensland have unveiled a four-stage plan for re-opening the Queensland economy. Ms Frecklington described the plan as “a roadmap to give businesses an idea that there can be a staged recovery to get to the end of this health crisis”.
“I believe that regional Queensland… should be able to move through those gates a lot earlier,” she said. “This health crisis cannot become an economic crisis and yet that is what we are seeing,” she told Sky News host Peter Gleeson. By implementing social distancing measures, Ms Frecklington said businesses such as restaurants and café’s could re-open while mitigating the risk of coronavirus infection.
