More than 8,000 people around Australia will become citizens on Tuesday - but the latest figures show that there are more than 198,000 in the queue

This Australian Citizenship Day, advocates are urging the Morrison government to address the country's backlog of citizenship applications.

"Yes, it has come down slightly [this year], but it is absolutely significant in terms of previous decades and Australia's model of migration," she said."It's critically important ... that significant resources are devoted to getting this backlog down. "Often people's lives are on hold in different ways ... The prolonged waiting has an effect on people," In 2017-2018, Australian citizenship approvals hit a 15-year low of just 81,000, but numbers are on the rise.

There's no property deal. Icac got this one wrong. Having robust communication with mediocre councillors is an everyday event. Icac has effectively gagged our elected members from advocacy for community matters.

JennieDuke You can quote upload and download speeds but they are absolutely. I contribute to a 50 mbps plan and in the 18mths on the plan the best download speed I’ve had is around 38 mbps. I seemingly pay for around 12 mbps that is never delivered. The consumer is always taken for a ride! JennieDuke Damn. I was really hoping for a netflix tax :(
