The Liberal Party believes it is within striking distance of causing a once-in-a-100-year upset in Saturday's Eden-Monaro byelection | rharris334

the party remained an outsider in the race but the result would be "neck and neck" with Labor candidate Kristy McBain, with a huge pre-poll and postal vote meaning it was likely a result would not be known on Saturday night.

Labor has seized on modelling showing about 4800 businesses and an estimated 18,000 workers in the electorate, which takes in Queanbeyan and includes the towns of Yass, Bega and Cooma, were reliant on the subsidy. "I've already flagged very clearly there will be a next phase and we are calibrating that next phase and targeting it to ensure that the support is there for those businesses and those employees who will continue to need it," Mr Morrison said.

rharris334 What, you mean they think their shameless pork barrelling will pay off? How about someone write out a few more phoney oversized novelty checks so they can pretend to spend money that isn’t theirs to win over voters by being the selfish a-holes that we all know they are.

rharris334 And I’ll bet your bottom dollar they are planning an early general election too
